Here’s one of my favorite poems. It’s by W.B. Yeats. (Who C.S. Lewis hung around with when he was a young Atheist. Weird huh.)
Do any of you ever read poetry? What are some of your favorite poems? Post them in the comments and I’ll post them in the future for us to discuss.

Chapter 3: The Wild Wood
Posted in Friday Chapters, Wind in the Willows on September 26, 2008 | 22 Comments »
Sorry about the late post today. Had a busy morning.
This chapter is an interesting one. I’m never sure if The Wild Wood is haunted or what exactly happens when Mole ventures in. The “pit-pattering” and the whistling. I think there’s a couple of ways one might interpret it:
The Forest is Haunted. When the Rat says:

That’s right, folks, Christopher Paolini/The Bane of My Existence has just released the third entry in his “epic” Inheritance Cycle.

Despite the community’s demands for a two-chapter per week schedule, I’m making the executive decision to move back to a once a week schedule. I understand that it’s a bit slow for the speed readers among us but I want to be sensitive to the busy members who are trying to keep up with a [...]
Chapter 2: The Open Road

This chapter we are introduced to Mr. Toad–one of my favorite characters in literature. It looks like we’re moving to 2 chapters per week. If this proves to be a problem we can scale it back.
The results were:
For: Sydney, Rosalyn, Jen, Jacque.
Against: Suzanne, Michele.
So the chapter post days will be Tuesday and Friday. How does that sound?
The River Bank
Posted in Friday Chapters, Wind in the Willows on September 12, 2008 | 22 Comments »
Well, here we are. The first of hopefully many Friday Chapter Chats.
In The River Bank we’re introduced to all of the main characters–albiet some quite briefly. The focus is Ratty and Mole but Otter, Mr. Badger, and Mr. Toad all make appearences. But even though all the characters aren’t largely present, this is a great [...]

What do you think folks? Should we up it to two chapters per week?

Here’s what the peeps are saying:
Michele:
Jesus told stories to make a point. The prophets knew that the heart was often best-reached through a tale; think how Nathan told the involved ballad of the man who loved his lamb to expose David.
Plus, our imaginations are from God; We’re made in his image and that’s why [...]
